autumn haiku, rain = haikus d’automne, la pluie

a beautiful contribution having nothing to do with Linear B = ma belle contribution qui n’a rien à faire avec le Linéaire B.

leaves rustling
on our cabin’s windowsills
while dreaming of them ...

froissement de feuilles
sur les rebords des fenêtres
l’on y rêve ...

rainfall drumming
on our cabin’s windowsills
sweeping leaves off ...

averses frappant
les rebords des fenêtres
balayant les feuilles ...

I have to print the text here because it is too small on the graphics. J’ai à reproduire les textes puisque les caractères de l’impression graphique sont trop petites.

Thank you, Rita! I was deeply inspired to write this haiku!

Sappho, spelled (in the dialect spoken by the poet) Psappho, (born c. 610, Lesbos, Greece — died c. 570 BCE). A lyric poet greatly admired in all ages for the beauty of her writing style.

Her language contains elements from Aeolic vernacular and poetic tradition, with traces of epic vocabulary familiar to readers of Homer. She has the ability to judge critically her own ecstasies and grief, and her emotions lose nothing of their force by being recollected in tranquillity.
