Re my  translation KN342 Je O 1    Thanks for publishing my translation Richard, but why did you put all capitol letters for the names this time.  Any reason I should know ?,Rita.

Oh I don’t know. I just did. I am tending to use capital letters a lot more often now in decipherments of both Linear A and Linear B, because it makes the words stand out. What do you think? Is this a good idea or not? Please let me know.

      Bye

Sappho, spelled (in the dialect spoken by the poet) Psappho, (born c. 610, Lesbos, Greece — died c. 570 BCE). A lyric poet greatly admired in all ages for the beauty of her writing style.

Her language contains elements from Aeolic vernacular and poetic tradition, with traces of epic vocabulary familiar to readers of Homer. She has the ability to judge critically her own ecstasies and grief, and her emotions lose nothing of their force by being recollected in tranquillity.
